Glaziers Hall

The design background is inspired by images found locally to Glaziers Hall: Southwark Cathedral, boats, ships and barges on the Thames. References to the architecture of Glaziers Hall and simple shapes and forms found on a glass cutting table.

At either end of the design are a Sun and a Moon representing the continuing passage of time and the renewal of each day. The Sun is also the essential source of light that brings life to stained glass together with the Glaziers Motto: Lucem Tuam Da Nobis Deo, Latin for O God, Give Us Your Light.

Old Father Thames is at one end of the design with the names of all the smaller Rivers and Tributaries that flow into the River, plus an abstracted image of the London Bridge refection.

The 3 Worshipful Companies that use the hall are represented first by their individual Coats of Arms. The figures that flow across the design are indulging in activities from the companies including glass blowing, cutting and painting to Instrument Makers and Launderers with their individual icons relating to each company.
