“Reason, Spirit, and Desire”
Printed ceramic-enameled glass featuring a unique “veil” effect – a dot matrix pattern that allows light and views out, while maintaining privacy inside the building.
The artwork symbolizes justice through a careful balance and harmony of colors, shapes, and forms. Inspired by Plato’s theory of the soul, it represents three key elements: Spirit, associated with courage and emotion; Desire, reflecting our needs and wants; and Reason, which guides the other two through rational thought and understanding.
Stretching an entire city block along Washington Street, this piece is a vibrant and colourful centerpiece in downtown Newark.
